The head of the Drulingen production site organizes multi-skilling.
Gilbert Blaise started at Sotralentz on 11th September 1967 at the age of 17, as a maintenance electrician. Five years later, he became electrical maintenance foreman. At the age of 32, he joined the wire works section as production manager. He has remained in this post and has also been a member of the works council for 20 years. Gilbert Blaise is a popular choice to lead the transition towards the future. His job consists of managing the personnel, organizing work and optimizing know-how.
His vision totally reflects the strategy of opening up to others:
"we need to group together all the common strengths of the various trades!"

Although the industrial tool of the Sotralentz group is operational and the people are skilled and trained, today it is essential to continuously optimize our know-how and our various products. One of the things that Gilbert Blaise is in charge of is the creation and leadership of a multi-skilled team.

After an in-depth analysis of seasonal variation and rotation requirements, the number of employees in this team is estimated at twenty-six.
This group will be able to intervene for all the four different trades of Sotralentz. The group will be recruited above all according to criteria of motivation, commitment and potential. Experience of multi-skilling in the past in the Sotralentz group would be an extra advantage.

Eventually, the members of this team will be able to be consulted about all the industrial developments that are being envisaged by the group. They will be able to intervene as an 'assessment committee' for new methods and techniques.
